The Community Library considers its primary task to be providing its users — through its services — with the information and documents necessary for the free development of personality, cultural enrichment, lifelong learning, professional, civic and social orientation, quality entertainment, and the meaningful use of leisure time.
To achieve these goals, the Library:

• Continuously expands, maintains, and catalogues its collection in line with its acquisition profile.
• Adapts and diversifies its services to meet emerging needs.
• Participates in the interlibrary loan system.
• Ensures access to the latest technological advances through its equipment.
• Provides a higher level of service through the computerised cataloguing of its document collection.
• Promotes the improvement of service quality through ongoing professional development.
• Strives, in cooperation with its founder, the Municipality of Szigliget, to provide public library services that meet the requirements of the times.
