Walking the KAMON-KŐ NATURE TRAIL — marked with the blue "T" sign, starting and finishing at the church in Szigliget, and named after a rock formation that reveals traces of ancient volcanic activity — you can discover the treasures of one of the most beautiful settlements on the shores of Lake Balaton and its surroundings. We will guide you through the village's charming streets, where (with the help of 9 information boards, plus a welcome sign) you can learn about the history of vernacular architecture and traditional viticulture and reed cultivation, view the ruins of an Árpád-era church, and, on entering the forest, read about the formation of Lake Balaton. We will also introduce you to the area's plants and wildlife, as well as the key episodes of its geological past and the world of its ancient volcanoes. The trail is 6 km long, with an elevation difference of 290 metres, and can be completed at a comfortable pace in 2.5–3 hours. To help protect the area's living and non-living natural treasures, please stay on the marked route once you leave the inhabited area, do not light fires, and respect other people's private property. In particular, we kindly ask that you take back with you any packaging from food you may have brought (empty bottles, etc.) and any other waste!
