The meat cooked overnight was distributed, and we also received dried bread — crushed up — and raw potatoes, one piece each. We also received something else: wheat. This was given to us so we could cook it along the way. I filled one of my coat pockets with it too. I should mention that I missed the bread distribution because I wandered off briefly looking for familiar faces in the crowd, and by the time I got back it had all been handed out and there was none left for me. At around 1 in the afternoon we set off from Zalabér through Türje, and I am currently writing these lines at the edge of a field, at the outskirts of the village of Szalapa. Same day, 18:00. Lunch just happened — only a break. I ate the little piece of meat I had saved from the night before, again without salt or bread. I think we're heading towards Tapolca — if only I had wings! The kilometres are not adding up fast, as we have only come 17 so far today; Tapolca is still 30 km away. Same day, 17:00. I was badly mistaken: 1. we did not continue but spent the night here, just as the previous night. 2. We are not heading to Tapolca but towards Jánosháza.

The night passed badly as it was very cold. For breakfast we received dried bread and wheat — the wheat is still holding out. At around 9 o'clock we set off towards Jánosháza.
